Our Approval Process
Applications will be evaluated by the Lee County EDO
using criteria such as:

Number and type of jobs created
-
Compensation for created jobs
-
Total private capital investment
-
Impact on local economy and tax base
-
Consistency with local development goals
-
Probability that the project will catalyze further business or industry
growth
-
Relative merit of competing proposals
-
Availability of funds at time of application
-
Other relevant factors determined by the nature and timing of the
project
Following evaluation by Lee County EDO staff,
application recommendations will be passed to the Board of County
Commissioners along with a completed due diligence checklist. BoCC is
responsible for the final approval or denial of an application.
After You Are Approved
Once your application
has been approved, the BoCC will enter into a performance grant agreement
containing the following information:

Award amount
-
Performance conditions (employment, average wages, capital investment,
etc.)

Schedule of performance grant payments
-
Sanctions for failure to meet performance conditions
Any additional, relevant information will also be
agreed upon at this stage.
