The Lee County EDO works with numerous community partners to connect businesses and residents with the resources they need

The Florida Small Business Development Center at Florida Gulf Coast University helps businesses in Southwest Florida develop a strategic vision, map out goals, strategies and tactics to help your business grow.

The Cape Coral Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) encourages public and private investments to enhance South Cape Coral. Its goal is to create a vibrant urban village, encourage economic growth and improve the quality of life by creating a vibrant urban village in the redevelopment area.

The City of Cape Coral’s Economic Development department promotes business prosperity and growth across the city. Services include site searches, incentives for new, expanding, or relocating businesses, and business start-up/expansion services.

The Fort Myers CRA advances businesses and transforms communities to
redevelop Fort Myers for the Future. The CRA works together with the City’s
Community Development Division to revitalize six targeted areas within the city,
upgrading the public infrastructure and stimulating redevelopment.

The City of Fort Myers provides resources, promotes partnerships and offers incentive for growth of the business community in the city’s six wards. The Economic Development Department develops innovative ways to provide educational support for the community to increase prosperity, equity, and inclusion in the community.

The Industrial Development Authority is a seven-member board appointed by the Lee County Commissioners and staffed by the Lee County Economic Development Office. The IDA is tasked with fostering industrial and business development, and encouraging both change to local and relocating companies to explore the use of Industrial Development Revenue Bonds (IDRBs) to finance their projects. 

Skyplex delivers a wide range of aviation and commercial possibilities, creating a dynamic atmosphere for businesses prepared to take on the world! The property is strategically located in a Foreign Trade Zone at a Southwest Florida International Airport, a major international airport, with a direct connection to Interstate 75.

The Educational Facilities Authority’s purpose is to assist institutions for higher education in the construction, financing, and refinancing of acquisition, construction, equipping, or rehabilitation projects. One member shall be a trustee, director, officer or employee of an institution for higher education located in Lee County. Terms are five years.

The Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau is devoted to maintaining and building year-round tourism in Lee County. To achieve this goal, the VCB works closely with the local industry to increase domestic and international visitation through integrated programs targeting key markets. Local tourism businesses are encouraged to actively participate in all of the programs and grass roots outreach efforts, such as marketing meetings, booking engine participation, media initiatives and trade/consumer shows.

The Regional Economic Research Institute (RERI) at Florida Gulf Coast University conducts on-demand economic research, including economic development and forecasting, economic impact studies, surveys and more. RERI studies the regional and state economy to track trends, interpret impact, and forecast the future.

Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) provides mentoring, workshops, and other resources to empower entrepreneurs to establish and manage a successful business. SCORE mentors have experience across a broad range of business sectors and can assist with business plan development, sales and marketing strategies, financing and taxes, management, administrative and operational procedures, and business decision-making.
